Giving back is part of who we are at Big Reach PR & Marketing. We were honored to volunteer our time and photography services for Blood Cancer United’s Light The Night ceremony at Siena University.
It was an evening shaped by hope, remembrance, and community. We are grateful we could contribute in a way that felt meaningful to us: by showing up, offering our photography, and helping capture moments from a gathering in support of people affected by blood cancer.
A community brought together by care
Some occasions remind us how much it matters to come together. Light The Night was one of them. We met incredible people and witnessed a community giving its time and attention to a cause that touches many lives.
There is no need to make a moment like this grander than it is. People came together. Organizers and volunteers helped make the ceremony possible. And those who attended brought care and remembrance with them. That alone says something powerful about what a community can do when people choose to show up for one another.
For us, being part of the evening was an opportunity to listen, meet people, and contribute without taking the focus away from what brought everyone together. We were there to support the occasion with a skill we could offer. The purpose belonged to the community and to those affected by blood cancer.
Photography helps us hold on to a moment
A photograph cannot contain the whole meaning of an evening. It can, however, preserve a glimpse of it: a speaker at the podium, the Light The Night signage, or the people gathered around a shared purpose.
That is what makes event photography meaningful to us. It asks us to pay attention. Not only to what is happening onstage, but to the feeling of a room and the moments that help tell the story of people coming together.
We approach that responsibility with care. These are not simply images of a venue or a program. They are records of a real gathering, connected to real people and experiences. We are grateful to have been trusted to contribute our time and photography services to this one.
Gratitude for everyone who made the evening possible
We want to thank the organizers and volunteers who gave their time to bring the ceremony together. We are also grateful to everyone who attended and helped create a sense of connection and support.
And, most of all, we recognize the people affected by blood cancer and the families and communities around them. An event like Light The Night creates space for people to come together around that shared reality. Our part was small, but we were honored to be there.
The photo above offers one view of the ceremony, including a speaker at the podium and the event signage. It is a reminder of an evening we are grateful to have experienced, and of the people whose presence made it what it was.
Why community involvement matters to us
At Big Reach PR & Marketing, our work often involves helping people and organizations share their stories. Community involvement gives that work a human perspective. It reminds us that behind every story are people, relationships, and experiences that deserve care and respect.
Volunteering our time and photography services was one way for us to contribute beyond our day-to-day work. It did not need to be complicated. We brought what we could offer and were thankful for the chance to be part of the evening.
We believe showing up matters. Sometimes that means sharing a skill. Sometimes it means listening and making room for others. And sometimes it means simply being present in a community that has come together to support people facing a difficult experience.
We’re grateful to Blood Cancer United, the organizers, the volunteers, and everyone who attended the Light The Night ceremony at Siena University. Thank you for welcoming us and for making the evening one we will remember.
